As a part of our 35th Anniversary celebration, members of our calligraphy community came together to create a unique and captivating abecadarium book. Now, you may be wondering, what exactly is an abecadarium?
An abecadarium is a collection of artwork or calligraphy that features each letter of the alphabet in a creative and expressive way. For our special project, we set two rules for our members to follow: 1) The artwork must be done in Black and White, and 2) It must fit on an 8 by 10 inch page. With these guidelines, our talented calligraphers rose to the challenge and poured their creativity into crafting stunning letters that are truly works of art. The letters were then bound into an accordion-style book, with each one carefully matted onto black mat board to create a visually striking presentation. We are pleased to offer a video tour of this remarkable abecadarium book in two parts, courtesy of Bart Burrows. We hope you will enjoy the creativity and skill of our members as you explore this collection of alphabet art!
